Kolkata metro first operated between only 3.4 km which was Esplanade to Bhawanipur (Now Netaji Bhavan). Currently it covers more than 32 km including the recently opened East-West Metro. Kolkata metro is growing rapidly. In 2020, Metro is the quick transport system in the city of joy.

  • Kolkata Metro has 30 stations operational in 2020.

  • The layout of the total 30 stations are at grade (2), underground (15) & elevated (13).

STATIONS ON KOLKATA METRO LINE 1

Kolkata metro Line 1 is the oldest metro line. It is also the first metro service in India. The North-South Metro starts at Noapara and ends in Kavi Subhash metro Stations. At present, the route expanded to Baranagar & Dakshineswar which are under construction.

Kolkata Metro Line 2 also known as East-West Metro is a new route in the city. It starts at Teghoria and ends in Howrah Maidan. This route has 17 stations of which 6 are operational. This total distance of the route is 22 km. It connects major stations & business hubs of Kolkata.
